 Detours Collection

Detours Music released a 19 track digital compilation album 'Detours Collection' on 16th February, Ez Jon Erikson's birthday! The track listing is shown below. All tracks have been digitally remastered for this release. The album includes a previously unreleased pop/country rock recording of the song 'Jesamine' which was a No 2 UK hit for The Casuals in 1968, and was originally 'When Jesamine Goes' released earlier that year by The Bystanders. Detours' recording was made several years ago prior to Sam Johnson's accident, but Ez has rescued it from the vaults and describes it as an awesome arrangement by their sound engineer/co-producer Paul Adshead matched with one of Sam Johnson's finest recorded lead vocals. An equally awesome acoustic performance will appear on 'Memory Lane The Boxset Treasury' which is now likely to be released in Autumn 2010. The compilation 'Detours Collection' focuses on their single type tracks rather than album tracks, acting as a strong promotional tool to distribute around radio stations. As Ez puts it "it's basically our greatest hits package, although we haven't had any!" The album is available now at iTunes, 7Digital, HMV Digital, Tesco Entertainment, Play.com, Rhapsody, Napster, EMusic, Amazon MP3, People's Music Store, Limewire Store, Nokia Music Store, Shockhound, IMVU, Lala, Amie Street, My Space Music, Zune and Last FM. A CDR version is available "On Demand" at Detours Music Store on this website. A digital single 'For Your Love (Single Edit)' was also released on iTunes, 7Digital, HMV Digital, Tesco Entertainment, Play.com, Rhapsody and Lala on Valentines Day, 14th February.

Detours to take a trip down Memory Lane with Treasury boxset!
New boxset planned for Autumn 2010 release

Detours are currently working on a collection of previously unreleased recordings entitled 'Memory Lane The Boxset Treasury' which will contain approximately 90 tracks, consisting of live concert, soundcheck and rehearsal performances, demos, home recordings, alternate mixes, and new songs.

The remarkably ambitious project has no current release date, but it is hoped that it may be completed for an Autumn 2010 release, digitally through iTunes, and as an "On Demand" CDR boxset through their Detours Music Store website. The album cover has already been confirmed and is shown below.

An extensive DVD project is also underway, including acoustic live performances and promo videos.

NEWSFLASH:
Detours perform 'Save Mossley Whit Friday Band Contest' gig at Mossley Band Club!

Detours made only their second live performance in 16 months on Friday 23rd April when they performed at Mossley Band Club. The gig raised £220 in funds towards the 'Save Mossley Whit Friday Band Contest' campaign, which is very close to the hearts of Sam and Ez. Sam is a member of the band, and Sam and Ez's father and uncles were founder members. Their late Uncle Kenneth and Auntie Renee were hard working supporters of the annual contest, which is suffering a lack of funding during this difficult time and is in danger of folding up! Thank you to all who supported and shared in such an enjoyable evening.
